The Sun Pine Homes Legacy

Charles Heath Snyder, an ardent disciple of the legendary Frank Lloyd Wright, had a vision of combining quality, value and beauty in the design and construction of new homes. He was also a firm believer in Wright’s dedication to architecture in harmony with the natural environment. Charles formed the Heath Construction Company and soon became successful in building innovative custom homes in Los Angeles, Beverly Hills, and other prestigious locations in Southern California.

Al Snyder, Charles’ nephew, joined him in the business during the late 30s. Moving to Northern California, he continued building and completed his first home in Sonoma County in 1952. Later, with his three sons, Al built homes in Santa Rosa and throughout the rolling hills of the wine country. The family also constructed homes in the apple orchards of Sebastopol, along the towering Pacific bluffs around Bodega Bay, and the majestic redwood groves of Occidental, Guerneville and Monte Rio.

Alan Snyder, Al’s oldest son, often sat in on discussions between his father and great uncle, Charles, and was inspired to follow in the family tradition. After graduation from the University of Arizona with a degree in Civil Engineering, Alan designed and built custom homes in Northern California with his father and brothers. In 1982, he returned to the spectacular mountains, canyons and pine forests of Arizona and shortly after, persuaded Al to join him in Prescott.
