Alan Snyder founded Sun Pine Homes in 1982 and serves as its President and General Partner. With the mind of an engineer and the soul of an artist, Alan has designed over 700 custom homes nationally including over 400 in the Prescott area. After graduating with honors from the University of Arizona in civil engineering, Alan designed and built custom homes in Northern California with his father and two brothers. In 1982, he returned to Arizona to work in an environment that had made a big impact on him. He has a deep appreciation for the natural beauty of the North Central Arizona Mountains and he thoroughly understands the technical challenges required to build there. Long years of training and a wealth of practical experience have shown him how to design and build in Prescott’s steep and rocky terrain to maximize a building site’s views and value. Alan also holds an Arizona General Contractor’s License and was formerly licensed in California.
Robert Norman has been with Sun Pine Homes since 1995 and serves as the company’s Vice-President and General Partner. He is part of a long family tradition of builders. One of his great, great grandfathers was a successful builder entrepreneur in Washington DC and his great grandfather T. L. Bear founded Bear Brothers Construction Company in Montgomery Alabama in 1929. Robert grew up working with his grandfather, Joe Bear at Bear Brothers and after graduate school he joined Alan in Prescott to focus on residential construction. Robert is involved in all aspects of company operations including, estimating, subcontractor procurement, marketing, and financial and personnel management and specializes in sustainable and energy efficient building. He also works closely with our customers during the building process. Robert has a B.A. from the University of Alabama, an M.A. in Public and Private Management from Birmingham-Southern College, and an Advanced Certificate in Residential Construction Management from Yavapai College. He also holds an Arizona General Contractor’s License and is a Certified Green Builder through NAHB and Environments for Living Green Builder College and is a certified LEED Green Associate.
Amy Snyder has served as Sun Pine Home’s Interior Designer since 1992. She has decorated several model homes for the company and including our highly praised Granite Park Model, featured in several national magazines and on home tours. Most recently, she was featured in Prescott Women’s Magazine. Amy is especially skilled with color and tile/granite selection. She has developed specifications for all of our spec homes over the years and has extensive contacts with interior furnishing suppliers in Arizona. She also specializes in the evaluation and procurement of green building components and furnishings. Amy is always a pleasure to work with and is available to assist our customers with colors and interior specifications.
Dave Kochenderfer has been our Draftsman and Surveyor for over twenty years. What sets him apart from others in his field is his direct experience as a finish carpenter and his passion for what he does. He knows all areas of construction and understands a set of plans must work in the field. He is extremely detailed and consistently produces virtually flawless computerized plans that are easy to read and work well in the field. He was the first draftsman to use computer aided drafting in the Prescott area. Subcontractors have repeatedly told us that his plans are the highest quality they work with.
Jill Taylor has served as our Office Manager and Bookkeeper since 1997. She also manages our subcontractor and supplier documentation requirements. Her conscientiousness, energy, and organizational skills keep our office running smoothly.
Sondra R. Essary Our Designated Broker Sondra is a native of Arizona and brings with her extensive knowledge and experience regarding the state and it's history. As a child she vacationed with her family in Prescott's Granite Dells and enjoys her memories of time spent here. She married her husband in 1958. He was a home builder and she partnered with him in his business as his Designated Broker in both California and Arizona. Together they made home ownership dreams come true for families in both states. Her involvement in all types of changing markets helps her to guide her clients with a calm confidence that few possess. Having her as a member of the Sun Pine Realty team helps us to negotiate through challenging times and gives us a completely well rounded team.
Dave Clemens has served as our Superintendent and manager of our Quality Control and Safety Programs since 1997. He has a General Contractor’s License and over 30 years of construction experience. He is highly skilled in all technical aspects of construction. Dave manages also our customer service and directly supervises our subcontractors. He has an excellent rapport with our customers.
Brad Garrett is our Project Manager. His primary duties include scheduling & coordination of our subcontractors. Brad has excellent management skills and extensive experience in all phases of residential construction and development work. He always works hard to make sure our jobs run smoothly.
Edvardo & Carlos Marquez serve as part of our Sun Pine Field Staff. They are extremely reliable and dedicated team members, and have helped us in many areas of construction, as well as our Canyons at Granite Park project.
